Despite having little to no musical "talent" (whatever that is), Mars are one of the more well known No Wave bands. This album is pretty typical No Wave. The guitars are completely out of tune, not that it really matters considering the way they play. The drums are pounded upon crazily. The vocals alternate between male and female (and on a couple tracks both), and are mostly shrill and shouted, but occasionally they are delivered with a really delightful moaning. Judging by how it sounds, the band recorded live in a large metal can. To my knowledge this compilation is the majority of Mars' recordings. Don't ask what the cover is supposed to be, because I've no idea. Click the artwork above and enjoy.
